X Factor Week 5

Firstly I apologise for missing last weeks X Factor review, but Belle Amie went so nothing unusual seemed to happen that night (even if Cher did sing and not rap), so lets get on with my views on Week 5 of the show.

Cher – The song choice was brilliant as that song suits her to a tee really. She actually sung it well as well my favourite performance of hers so far by a long way. She’s still not the best vocally in the competition but who knows, maybe her popularity will prove the deciding factor.

Mary – Definitely not her best. Very shakey and uncomfortable at the start and it never seemed to get the Irish woman’s spark through the song at all! It’s a shame because she’s had some very good performances in the first few weeks but she may be in trouble after that.

Katie – I thought she was very good tonight. The song choice by Cheryl was again a good one as Katie’s voice is very similar to that of Gwen Stefani’s. Good performance after being in the bottom two last week.

Aiden – He seems to have toned down the scary and creepy singing style and tonight it really did pay off because he done a great performance. Still sung in his own way which made the song his own and it was a great version of the song.

Paije – A great energetic and fun performance from Paije this week which suits him much better. Wasn’t a completely flawless performance and at times it seemed all the moving around was shaking up his vocals a bit but you can see he is having the time of his life on stage which is brilliant.

Rebecca – This girl can sing! A beautiful performance this week which showed off her voice very well. I expect her to be around for a while.

Wagner – What a contrast from Rebeccas performance. Wagner is hilarious and I love him and his unusual performances but tonight watching it just made me think how did he actually even get to the live shows. He is a really bad singer. If the people keeping him in are serious though then he could go all the way if he’s already made it this far.

Matt – I’m sorry Wagner you can’t win the show, because Matt just has to win it. That was just yet another unbelievable performance from the painter who will never be picking up a brush again. I don’t know how he can hit those high note but somehow he hits the ones higher and that was the performance of the night so far for me. Amazing.

Treyc – A powerful performance from Treyc this week, she really did belt it out and gave it everything she has this week which is always good to see from a contestant. I know I’ve said this many times but I still don’t think she has what it takes to win the show, but she does have a good voice.

One Direction – These kids are very good. I could see them releasing that single astheir own tomorrow and it flying off the shelves. With Simon concentrating solely on them as his last act can only be a good thing for them in the competition. I’m sure they’ll make thefinal.
I.M.O.

This week on the performances for me the bottom two should be Mary and Wagner. However Katie hasn’t found the love of theaudience yet like Mary and Wagner both have so she may be in trouble again. Also maybe one of the best singers Treyc could struggle as the competition is whittling down.
