SPOILER ALERT: If you have not seen The Planet of the Apes or know the twist then this post and the trailer contains major spoilers.
43 years after the original film release and 10 years after the remake, a prequel to the Planet of the Apes will be released this year, and from the trailer it looks amazing!
The Rise of the Planet of the Apes is the first film in what is being called a Planet of the Apes “reboot”, which will start a new series of films about the Apes that take over our planet.
Starring James Franco, as a scientist looking for a cure for Alzheimer’s, this film will show audiences just how his experiments on test subjects, will give apes super intelligence that starts the war between man and ape.
Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in the Lord of the Rings series, will also star as Caesar, the ape that leads the revolt.
The special effects that we see in the trailer, in particular the apes, look outstanding and at the same time very creepy. You’ll see what I mean when you see the end of the trailer (and the image on the right), but with the same special effects team that worked on The Lord of the Rings series and Avatar, we know we are going to see something special when this film is released on 5th August.
