It doesn’t seem like long since we saw Toby Maguire put on the costume, which is because it was only nine years ago! Three films later and that series in the franchise seemed to had lost its spider senses and died out, but now we have a new trailer for the reboot of the Spider Man franchise, The Amazing Spider Man.
We now can go to the cinema to see Andrew Garfield get bitten by a spider and put on the Spider Man costume just like Toby Maguire. It’s strange having a reboot of a series of films so soon after the old ones have ended, but all this negativity I’m expressing is just hiding the fact I am secretly very excited to see this re-invision of the Spider Man story.
The first trailer is very good, up until the weird CGI point of view footage at the end. I’m guessing if it is used in the film, it’s only there because the film will be in 3D and it’ll be a cool experience for kids watching, thinking they are Spider Man. In my opinion I don’t like it and hope it’s just a piece of footage made to show off for the trailer and it won’t be used in the film.
Either way, we definitely know we will witness the story of Peter Parker all over again from the very beginning, and I am looking forward to see how director Marc Webb will bring the comic book to life again. I’m also excited for the fresh new cast, in particular Andrew Garfield playing Peter Parker/Spider Man and Emma Stone playing Mary Jane. I’m thinking it will be a great combination of young talent and will hopefully prove a good choice for the filmakers.
The release date is a while off yet on the 3rd July 2012, but I have a good feeling about it and think it will be a great time at the cinema. I just hope it is not like watching the same film as we did nine years ago, and it it is, this film will just end up being a great warm up for The Dark Knight Rises on the 20th July :p
