127 Hours – Trailer

Last week I saw this trailer for a film that looks set to send James Franco’s name onto everyones lips when the Oscar nominations are discussed next year.

127 Hours is based on the true story of Aron Ralston, who famously got trapped by a boulder when mountain climbing in Utah and was forced to amputate his own arm off to free himself.

The film is directed by Danny Boyle fresh off his success with Slumdog Millionaire and this already is looking like one of the best films of this year.

It won’t be released in the UK until January 2011 but will be out in the US early November and reviews are already tipping Franco’s performance as Aron Ralston to get him at least a nomination for the next Oscars.

The amputation scene in the movie was all filmed in one take and was made to look as realistic as possible, which has already started rumours that this scene caused two people to require medical attention as one fainted and the other had a panic attack.

Although it is not known if the scene was the cause of these incidents it isn’t putting me off seeing what should be a brilliant film of 2011.

Check out the trailer bellow.
